Solutions Laboratories

Join PTC technical staff members for these topic-specific, classroom structured working sessions to discuss, analyze, and resolve actual work-related problems. Attendees will participate in an interactive laboratory and address workplace issues related to PTC software.

The format of these laboratories includes both a morning and afternoon session. The morning session is more of a formal presentation that discusses successful solution strategies and techniques. The afternoon sessions will be informal to allow for discussion and analysis of issues, and may include the use of workstations.

Laboratory 1: Advanced Manufacturing Usability Lab
by Ken Goss, Goss Consulting

This session focuses on advanced ‘problem-solving’ of ‘real-world’ manufacturing challenges. This laboratory session is for advanced users of PTC’s manufacturing related products that need assistance with difficult manufacturing challenges in their workplace and are willing to forward models and descriptions to us in advance of the class.

PTC Product Manager Francois Lamy will be integrally involved in planning and staffing for the manufacturing laboratory.

Laboratory 2: Fast Complex 2-D Drawing Creation with Associativity
by Danae Isakov, PTC Product Manager

This session focuses on advanced ‘problem-solving’ of ‘real-world’ issues involving the creation of difficult 2D drawings created from 3D models while maintaining design associativity all within the environment of PTC’s suite of software solutions thereby enabling fast and efficient future design modifications.  This laboratory session is for participants with challenging 2-D design issues that are willing to forward models and descriptions in advance of the class.

PTC will provide a primary instructor and support individuals for these sessions.

Laboratory 3: Migration from Pro/ENGINEER 2001 to Wildfire
by PTC Staff

This session is designed to provide the audience with informal case-studies from users that have successfully upgraded to Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire. The session will have three components:

  • Discussion of implementation experiences including do’s and don’ts
  • Participant training on Wildfire upgrade methodology
  • Productivity metrics achieved after upgrade

Panel Discussion: PTC/USER will facilitate a panel discussion. Panel members will come from small, mid-size, and large companies that have successfully upgraded to Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire.

Attendee Quotes

"The best thing about the conference is the opportunity to interact with PTC people. We normally get very little chance to find out what their direction is and this is one of the only places to find out what's going on with the products and what’s coming out in the new releases."
--Honeywell attendee
