PTC/USER Privacy Policy

We respect the privacy of our members and everyone who works with or does business with PTC/USER. We have established the PTC/USER Privacy Policy to govern the collection and maintenance of data recorded through the operation of this web site and all activities we engage in. We want to inform you of our Privacy Policy and to assure you that we are taking steps to make sure that the information you give us is secure.

We collect information only to provide services to you
PTC/USER only collects information which you provide to us in the course of registration for the International Conference, at any of the web sites we operate (e.g. ptcuser.org, mywindchill.org) and the E-Mail Exploder. You are generally free to provide only such information as you determine, however, certain offerings will require that you provide specific data. Although we track the number of "hits" recorded against the various areas of our web site, we do not automatically collect personal information about you. No personal information is collected unless volunteered through mechanisms such as surveys or registrations.

We utilize "cookies" in order to make your visits to our web sites easier and to provide enhanced and customized features during your visits. Cookies are small bits of data that are sent to your browser and stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies permit us to recognize your user name and e-mail address but do not collect your personal information. We do not mandate cookies for you to access our web sites and you may freely set your browser to reject all cookies or prompt you to accept or reject them.

You can refuse to give us personal information
For certain areas of our web sites, we request registration information from you and you are free to provide this information or deny the request. If you do not provide this information, you will still be able to access most areas of our web sites. However, you will not be able to access certain areas and/or services offered.

We restrict access to your personal information
PTC/USER may share information you provide to us with PTC. However, it is PTC/USER policy that information you provide to us is not distributed to other third parties for their use or sale. In certain circumstances we may provide your information to third parties, such as upon your consent, when we reasonably believe that it is required to do so by law, or to certain business partners or service providers in the course of providing you with information, products or services. It is our policy to never sell, lease or otherwise disclose your information to list brokers or agents for commercial gain.

PTC/USER will use the information that you provide to better serve you at our web site and through activities such as the International Conference. PTC/USER may also notify you of updates to our web sites and of special events that PTC/USER or its business partners may conduct. These communications may be in the form of e-mails or mailings.

You can correct the information we collect
You can notify our corporate office of any changes to your mailing address by calling us at our headquarters or by sending e-mail to membership@ptcuser.org. In addition, you can remove yourself from any mailing lists to which you have subscribed by visiting our web site or by using our mailing list command interface.

All subscription requests for our e-mail services are required to complete a double opt-in procedure. When we receive a subscription request, we send a confirmation message to authenticate it. This is to prevent any persons from inadvertently or maliciously subscribing you to mailing lists in which you don't want to participate.

We protect the information you give us
PTC/USER will take reasonable steps necessary to protect the information you provide to us. We continually review our security procedures and mechanisms to ensure that adequate protections are in place. Our web sites may contain links to other web sites. PTC/USER is not responsible for the privacy practices, security or the content of these sites.
