Richard Childress Racing, a PTC Performance Team, uses PTC solutions for the design-through-manufacturing process of their race cars. PTC provides the teams with software tools for mechanical design, reverse engineering, industrial design, surface modeling, and functional optimization. Richard Childress Racing also uses Pro/MANUFACTURING to generate and optimize NC tool paths for 3 and 5-axis machining of their entire custom race car components.

Celebrating 35 years of NASCAR racing, Richard Childress Racing fields five accomplished NASCAR teams and is a seven-time NASCAR Series Championship team. Summary

The morning started out with and introduction to Pro/E at RCR.  Several of the Designers and Engineers show the group many different parts and how they used Pro/E to make the more efficiently as well as to optimize their designs.

The high light of the day was when Leo Greene from PTC gave a demo of 2002 - Wildfire.  This was very exciting!  PTC has scheduled the release of 2002 on June12th!  Leo show many of the new functionality features that are going to be included in 2002.  Photorender also has a lot of new functionality.

Next Leo answered the audiences questions and provided some tips& techniques.  Leo also provided a detail explanation of some of the more advance functionality of Pro/E.  He covered  behavioral modeling, analysis features, optimization of parts, surfacing, ISDX, and many others.  Everyone that was in attendance learned something they could take back to their office and use.

Before Lunch PTC /  RCR gave away 6 sets of Tickets to the "Coca Cola 600" at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 26th, with one set including pit passes!

After the demos we divided up into a few groups and toured a few of the RCR buildings, then reconvened for lunch.
