Announcement for Nov 9 Tulsa meeting
Just wanted to let everyone know that we are planning to
have the next OPEUA Tulsa meeting on November 9.
Tentative Agenda Topics:
1. Mechanica - Stress Analysis
2. Rounds
3. Installation Intralink and current patches
Let us know if you have a particular topic of interest.
A quick recap of the September 9 meeting in OKC.
Greg Fallon demo'd Fluent's Flowizard, showing how easy it
was to set up a simple CFD (Fluid Flow) analysis as a designer.
At this point in time it is a stand alone program, importing STEP
files, but hopes to be integrated within Pro/E by Q2 of next year.
It sits on top of a standard full blown FLUENT license but will
soon have the option to use their networked pool of analysis machines
at Fluent's developers site, paying by the CPU hour that you use.
It was a very instructive demo and Greg was happy to have been
invited. Let us know if you want additional details.
Clay Martin generous enough to show us a few applications
using Surfacing, principally Boundary Surfaces in Wildfire. He
emphasized the Shift-key to select multiple surfaces and the CNTL-key
to select second datum curve and again the use of the Shift-key to
select the remaining curves.
Again, we want to thank Kristin DeRosa with PTC and Robert
Smith with TriCADCAM for sponsoring the OKC meeting

Tulsa July 13th, Follow-up
Hello everyone
Another meeting is in the books.
We did a quick review of the PTCUser Conference and the
basic updates to ProE Wildfire 2.0 and referencing PDMLink and
Windchill in the overall integration of ProE data companywide.
Next, we elected Scott Williams, Principal Group as
Vice-Chair by acclaimation. He successfully ran the OKC User
Group as Chairman when fax was king and emails a pipedream. He is
a significant addition to the User Group. We delayed nominations
for Secretary until the OKC meeting.
Due to some technical difficulties, we were unable to link
with Randy Snyder, TriCadCam for a Wildfire 2.0 presentation.
However, Lee Goodwin was more than gracious in making the presentation
on very short notice.
Lee Goodwin also made to ProMold presentation, which was
well received among our users. We had a good discussion and
interaction with Lee Goodwin. Thank you Lee.
We finished the meeting with a question and answer (any
current complaints for PTC or Resellers). Robert Smith with
TriCadCam fielded some questions and David Roe with PTC was nice enough
to put himself on the hotseat. The only real complaint regarded
Technical Assistance and the inability to understand the tech when they
had an Indian accent. Pete Pickett recommended using the online,
email inquires. The responses are usually quick and if verbal
communication is warranted, it usually comes with an American accent.
Finally, I want to thank everyone for the accurate
head-count before the meeting. We were able to purchase the
appropriate amount of refreshments.
I look forward to seeing everyone in November for our next
Tulsa meeting and hopefully some of you for the OKC meeting in
September.

Oklahoma City, March 10th, 2004 Follow-Up
Hello everyone;
We had a wonderful meeting on March 10 in OKC. Although
attendance
was a
little low at 13 because the meeting was rescheduled with short notice,
we
were
pleased to be joined by three new companies in OKC area.
Randy Snyder with TriCAD/CAM made a comprehensive internet presentation
of
the
enhancements of Wildfire 2, due for release in mid-April. The new
Patterning,
Feature Grouping, and Assembly functions were particulary interesting
and
should result in some significant time savings.
Next, Pete Pickett made a tips/tricks presentation in ProE 2001 using
little-
used keys and functions found in ProE that can provide real
time-savings
as
well.
I want to give special thanks to the two presenters as well as Robert
Smith
with TriCAD/CAM for their assistance to making the OKC meeting a
reality.
We
also appreciate David Roe with PTC in Dallas attending the meeting with
only
a
few hours notice.
We look forward to another meeting in OKC around the end of May.
Particular
interest has been shown about Sheetmetal and we would like to solicite
ProE
users in OKC about other topics of interest.

The meeting will be sponsored by Robert Smith with TriCAD. Food
and
drink will be provided.

meeting in Tulsa, November 4 and wanted to make meetings more
convenient for the
OKC base. Hopefully, this meeting will encourage their
involvement
with OPEUA.
