PTC/USER Technical Committee Leadership Changes

PTC/USER is announcing some changes to our PTC/USER Technical Committee leadership.

PTC/USER Codebeamer Technical Committee

We are pleased to announce Carla Lienhard of Source Allies as the inaugural Chair of the PTC/USER Codebeamer Technical Committee.

We look forward to working with Carla as she builds out this TC.  Carla’s leadership will help provide PTC the voice of the customer in the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) domain.  If you would like to get involved in this new TC, please sign-up on the PTC/USER portal!

PTC/USER Model-Based Enterprise Technical Committee

We are pleased to announce that a leadership transition plan is in place.  Stan Kroeker of AGCO will be taking over as the Chair of the PTC/USER Model-Based Enterprise Technical Committee.  Initially, Stan will work hand-in-hand with Matt Burr, our PTC/USER Creo CAD TC Chair.  And, long-term, the close collaboration between these two important TCs will continue.

We wish to thank Ryan Gelotte of Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory for his longtime leadership of this TC.  We wish Ryan the best as he moves on to other things.

 PTC/USER Computer-Aided Engineering Technical Committee

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Andreas Vlahinos is taking over as the Chair of the PTC/USER Computer-Aided Engineering Technical Committee.

Andreas will lead TC activities in the areas of analysis, simulation, aspects of generative design, Mathcad, and other similar areas.

Congratulations to Carla, Stan, and Andreas.

And please support these new Chairs.  They have a tough but important job to do!  They will work with you to keep the conversation going.  They will maintain a relationship with the PTC Product Management Team.  They will help you to stand up Working Groups to evolve the software.  They will help you to build value-providing Global Summit agendas.  And so much more …..

TriStar's Florida CAD on Tap Roadshow 2026
July 14–17, 2026

Join TriStar Digital Thread Solutions this July for the Florida CAD on Tap Roadshow 2026, a complimentary, multi-city event series designed for engineers, product developers, and manufacturing professionals interested in Model-Based Definition (MBD) and modern product development strategies.

Taking place across seven Florida cities from July 14–17, 2026, the roadshow will feature practical discussions on adopting MBD, reducing drawing dependency, improving collaboration between engineering and manufacturing teams, and creating clearer product definitions throughout the development process. Attendees will also gain insights from real-world experiences and presentations, including Preparing for MBD with Creo Parametric and The Pros and Cons of Going MBD.

The event is ideal for engineering managers, design and manufacturing engineers, CAD administrators, quality professionals, and digital transformation leaders seeking practical guidance and networking opportunities with local peers.

Attendance is free, and food and beverages are provided at every location, but seating is limited and registration is required.

Webinar | Automating Engineering Intelligence for Profitable Product Development Register for the Webinar - Wednesday, July 15th, 10:00 AM EDT

The gap between design intent and production reality has never been more expensive to close. Join CIMdata and aPriori on Wednesday, July 15 at 10am EDT for a live webinar: Automating Engineering Intelligence for Profitable Product Development.

Here's what you'll take away:

  • Why PLM systems and traditional DFM approaches can't meet the speed and scale of modern product development — and what needs to change
  • How to evaluate cost, CO2, and manufacturability directly from your 3D designs, enabling real-time trade-offs without waiting on supplier quotes
  • How companies like CNH and Rivian are reducing rework, compressing decision cycles from weeks to hours, and strengthening supplier negotiations with should-cost data
  • What it takes to transform PLM from a passive data repository into a true system of action — and why that's the foundation for scaling AI across the product lifecycle

Are your engineering decisions driving profitability — or reacting to it? This session will show you how to shift the balance.

Badgerland UG Lunch & Learn Webinar - Managing Color Variance within Windchill - Thursday, July 16th, 12:00 PM CT

Join the BUG (Badgerland User Group), Wisconsin's PTC/USER Regional User Group, for a virtual Lunch & Learn on Thursday, July 16, at 12:00 PM CT.

Managing alternate color, surface finish, or even material while trying to adhere it industry best practices can be challenging for most customers. During this session, Tristar will present best-practice options to do this with Creo and Windchill.

This event is open to all, so be sure to join us for an informative session, and we hope to see you there!

740 Enterprise Leaders Reveal the Gap Between Agentic AI Hype and Reality

Our latest research explores what’s actually happening inside enterprise AI programs beyond the hype.

We surveyed 740 senior leaders at $1B–$20B+ organizations to understand how AI is being used in real operational environments—and where it’s falling short of expectations.

One of the most striking findings: while 51% of organizations report having AI agents in production, only 10% have deployed what would be considered true agentic AI in governed, enterprise-ready environments.

The gap isn’t about access to AI—it’s about trust, governance, and the ability to connect knowledge across systems in a way that supports real decisions in engineering and operations.

For teams working across product development, manufacturing, and lifecycle management, this directly impacts how quickly and confidently decisions can be made when it matters most.
